enjoying the holidays
Grandma made this Kwazii cake for Niblet’s birthday. Octonauts are his current favourite thing.

Niblet was given a camera for his 3rd birthday (Christmas Day) by my brother.
I really like this card we received this year, in aid of Macmillan cancer support. And I think it says it well.
Niblet was at nursery yesterday morning, then a birthday party and then went to spend the night at Grandma’s. So, I had time to try and make my nephew’s Christmas present.
We had a little gathering here yesterday. Some new friends I’ve made since having Niblet (all with little ones of their own) and a few friends we’ve known for 6/7 years who we don’t see so much since having Niblet.
For anyone who is unfamiliar with the title of this post, it is the opening lines of one of my favourite poems ever.
Yesterday was another lovely sunny Autumn day. We went out to Alderley Edge for a walk, there are probably places nearer that are equally as nice for a walk, but we haven’t really looked. Niblet likes Alderley Edge (partly mainly because of the cafe!!)
Today has been a delighful day of Autumn colour. I don’t know if it’s having a nearly 3 year old or because I’m approaching middle-age, but I am really loving watching the birds in the garden as I wash up!!
Niblet and I had fun with glue, glitter, paint and sparkly star stickers on Sunday afternoon, making firework pictures. He loved making the pictures, but has told us all weekend he’s afraid of the bangs (fortunately out of 3 nights of ‘bangs’ the only night he struggled to get to sleep was Saturday)
Niblet went to his first Halloween party yesterday (but as usual I forgot the camera-so this was taken at home today!!).
