Last week we went on our summer holiday. We went to Wales again, it is definitely becoming our destination of choice.
You can’t really go wrong with lovely beaches, sea and rocks, all a few hours drive from home!!
(Warning this is a photo heavy post!!)
Our accommodation at Firstone Cottages was far superior to last year’s caravan disaster.
There were plenty more new beaches to explore in this part of Pembrokeshire. We went to Broad Haven (I took a little stroll round to Little Haven via Settlands at low tide, too);
Solva;
Martin’s Haven, with a boat trip out to see the puffins on Skomer Island;
and Dale. (Our evening meal at The Griffin was lovely, as was the view, but we felt a little outnumbered by yachtie types!)
We also visited St. David’s, the smallest city in Britain. we wandered round the cathedral and popped into a few shops. It is really like a small town, small but filled with nice eateries and select shops!!
We tried not to go back to the same places as last year, but Folly Farm was such a hit with Niblet last year that we booked our tickets online in advance (cheaper that way). We also went back to Tenby, that evening, for a walk on the beach and some lovely seafood for tea at The Hope and Anchor.
Our, now regular, stop for lunch on both the way to and from our cottage was in Aberystwyth. On the way there Niblet went swimming in the sea fully clothed!! On the way back, he and Hubbie made a sculpture on the beach, while I searched for sea glass.
It was a lovely week and I’m looking forward to going back sometime soon.

I have recently become aware of adverts appearing at the bottom of my posts. These are nothing to do with me, I don’t know why they are there or indeed how to get rid of them. I apologise.
