Days of Summer (Part 2)

Monday was grey at the farm, but we knew that didn’t mean it was like that on the coast!! We headed into Narberth, a lovely market town with lots of lovely shops. I hit the charity shops (more vintage patterns), the antiques centre (Hornsea egg cups), the gorgeous Golden Sheaf Gallery (2 cards by freya art & design this one and another showing a ship in a bottle ‘never stop exploring’ – there were more I wanted too, like this and this) and a deli (lovely Welsh cheese & fancy Toast for Cheese– have you tried them, we had a different variety once before … they are delicious). Hubbie and Niblet came for a bit, then headed to the park.

Our beach destination was Saundersfoot, where it was warm and the sun was shining occasionally.
We settled down for lunch and an afternoon of sandcastles, paddling and more bravely for me – swimming in the sea.

Tuesday was an absolute washout, more torrential rain. A couple of hours at indoor play again, but this time it was packed. When we were there on Sunday there had been only about 4 others in!! Niblet and I had a lovely lunch at No.25 Cafe, we were lucky to get a table as everywhere was heaving due to people keeping out of the rain.
Hubbie and N gave up after 9 holes of golf as they were soaked, we went home for an afternoon of Cbeebies/Olympics.

The weather picked up on Wednesday and we took a trip to Folly Farm. It was brilliant.

Niblet had fun on all the adventure play areas, we saw lots of animals in the zoo and farm areas, had a ride on the land train, Niblet went on a few rides in the vintage fair – we also took him on the ghost train and had a ride on the big wheel. It was easy to fill the whole day and we could have still seen more.

ring-tailed lemurs; meerkats;ocelo; bongo; ostrich; giraffe; giraffes; Niblet; reindeer; big wheel

You can see Niblet wearing his ‘Raffi’ t-shirt I made for him (read about that here and here), but what you can’t see is tucked in his rucksack is ‘Raffi’, his stuffed toy giraffe. We spent a while looking at the giraffes!!
