This is the card I have made for Valentines for Hubbie this year. It still isn’t the card I had hoped to make this year or last, but I like it nonetheless.

Niblet and I have also been busy baking this afternoon. There were brown bananas in the fruit bowl, that I know won’t get eaten in this house (we all prefer just ripe), that were calling out to be made into banana bread.

Having never made it before, I searched in a few recipe books and settled for the one in The River Cottage Family Cookbook.

Niblet was great, he loved weighing, chopping, mixing and particularly eating.

You may also notice the lovely splash of yellow in the background. I decided, on this (another) grey and snowy day, to brighten up our dining table with some blooms.

You can’t beat daffodils for colour and a hint of scent, especially all this for less than £2!!
