in the garden

005

It was lovely and sunny here the last 2 days and even getting warmer (back to freezing again today though)

We went out in the garden yesterday to start tidying up. Since having Niblet the gardening has been less of a priority, we have been less successful at growing and definitely more lazy!!

But every time I’m washing up I look out and see a mess. I keep making mental lists of all the things that need doing.

Yesterday I finally ticked off a couple of things on my list. I weeded 1 of the empty veg beds, cut back lots of shrubs & herbs and tidied up another bed. It still looks a mess but its a start. Niblet was keen to help dig up the weeds but was more of a hinderance that a help, so I was glad when Grandma arrived and helped him dig in his little bit of the garden.

There are signs that the garden is waking up; the rhubarb is coming up; we have a tiny patch of 3 snowdrops!! and there are a few crocus dotted around too.

The sunlight is such a welcome sight. The late afternoon light on the trees is delightful – something I tried but wasn’t quite able to capture on camera.

I also took some photos of a slightly worn out bouquet that my dad brought round on valentines day. I love the flowers in it and really love the sculptural blue form of the eryngium (least I think thats what they are)

I have recently become aware of adverts appearing at the bottom of my posts. These are nothing to do with me, I don’t know why they are there or indeed how to get rid of them. I apologise.
