I discovered things I wanted to tell you about, but forgot to. So there is quite a bit in the next few posts that happened before previous posts. I’m not sure this matters to anyone, but just so you know!!
I picked up a leaflet in our library about Operation Farm, which looked interesting. I was surprised to find it was based in local area. So, I started to follow their blog and thus found out about a Harvest event they were running.
We decided to give it a go, even thought the weather was foul. There was a scarecrow competition, with scare-mermaids, scare-pirates and all sorts.
This won the first prize, but the photo below shows our favourite…
Niblet helped make a bird feeder from small apples (not gone down well with our birds though!!), we marvelled at the apple pressing, Niblet had a go at collecting the juice and we all had a taste. It was lovely, so we made a donation for a bottle.
We tried dried apple and pear slices, tasted jam and honey, bought jam and cakes.
We also went for a look around the community orchard in the park. It is in it’s infancy, but what a great idea. There were lots of lovely mosaics.
As you can tell, the bees were a favourite. I’m always fascinated by them, particularly all the Manchester bees.
All photos taken on my lovely new Windows phone.

I have recently become aware of adverts appearing at the bottom of my posts. These are nothing to do with me, I don’t know why they are there or indeed how to get rid of them. I apologise.
