I am loving ‘The Great British Sewing Bee’ on BBc2. It makes me glad that people can see that anyone can have a go at sewing….. and anyone can muck it up too!!
My mum auditioned for it and got to go to London with some of her creations, she even made it to the screen test. I think she would have managed admirably against the competition, but maybe she doesn’t have enough back story to make good telly.
Having a handsome, smooth judge in Patrick Grant makes it all the better too!! “It looks good from afar, but it is far from good” has to be the best line EVER!!

I have recently become aware of adverts appearing at the bottom of my posts. These are nothing to do with me, I don’t know why they are there or indeed how to get rid of them. I apologise.
I’d forgotten this was on tonight. I really enjoyed the first episode – I liked the Great British Bake-Off too. It’s interesting seeing all the different things people make. I feel a bit sorry for the blokes though – the first episode was so heavily leaning towards women’s clothing – I felt they could be at a disadvantage. I’m sorry your mum didn’t get on.
I think the guy who made it through tonight doesn’t do clothes, as much as quilting anyway, so it may not be a problem for him. Plus I guess the skirt last week was probably the simplest (but hard enough for telly) thing they could have made!!
