Grave secrets

I guess I should have put these images in on Halloween!!

I love some of the amazing headstones and tombs that can be found in graveyards, but sometimes it feels a bit weird taking pictures of other families grief, especially if there are people around.
Cimetiere Pere Lachaise in Paris (where the first 4 pictures were taken) has quite a lot of tourists visiting graves of famous folk, so it doesn’t feel that weird. It’s almost like being in another town.

Every time we drive into Southport there is a cemetery on the left hand side that goes up a bit of a hill. It has some amazing angels, with just the sky as a backdrop. I always want to stop and take pictures there, but haven’t had the courage yet. It feels much more intrusive than taking pictures in old, no longer used cemeteries or grave sites.
